How We Approach Travel Around Lake Erie
Cleveland makes a surprisingly good home base for slow, curious travel. Within a few hours' drive you can reach sandy Lake Erie beaches, the islands off Sandusky, the wooded valleys of Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Amish farm country, and cities like Pittsburgh, Detroit, Columbus and Toledo. That variety shapes how we write: most of what you find here is built around trips you can plan on a Friday evening and take that weekend, without flights or elaborate logistics.
